A Healthier Happy Hour

It’s hump day and most people like to end the day with a little happy hour.

If you are going out and about for happy hour, try and stick to these drinks for less calories:

Vodka and soda water with a splash of OJ or cranberry juice
Light beer
3 oz Red wine
Light Rum and diet coke
Gin and Soda water with a splash of Grenadine
Vodka and diet coke

If you are tempted to eat while drinking, stay away from the finger foods that have been fried. Instead try things like:

Edamame
Almonds
Tuna tar tar
Grilled chicken on a stick
Veggie sushi roll without sauce

If you are home, try these drink ideas:

Pom Martini–
3 oz Pom Juice
1 oz Bacardi (berry flavored)
1 oz sparkling water
Splash of agave nectar

Citrus Wine with a kick–
1 oz Lemon vodka
3 oz Sauvignon blanc (or other dry white wine)
Splash sugar free triple sec
1/2 lemon (squeezed into drink)
1/2 lime (squeezed into drink)

Fruity Vodka–
1 oz Strawberry vodka
4 oz diet Sierra Mist
1/2 orange (squeezed into drink)

Sangria–
FIll glass half way full of any red wine (about 3 oz)
Add fresh raspberries, cranberries, apple, peaches, ANY fruit you want

 

***Don’t forget to drink water after each drink and REMEMBER………ALWAYS HAVE A DESIGNATED DRIVER!
