healthy adult drinksLower Calorie Alcoholic Drinks for entertaining

Friends are always asking me for healthy alternatives to the “calorie laden” alcoholic drinks.  I’ve decided to post some recipes for some of my favorite spring/summer time drinks since it is starting to warm up in Charleston.  These are great to make at parties for friends and family or to order when out on the town.  Drink Responsibly :o)

Citrus Fizz

2 oz light Bacardi (or other light Rum)

2 oz club soda

2 oz freshly squeezed oranges

1 oz freshly squeezed lime

2 oz of Trop50 (50% less sugar Tropicana Orange Juice)

Mix together and garnish with orange slice

Skinny Margarita

2 oz silver Tequila

2 oz crystal light lemonade

Splash triple sec

1/2 freshly squeezed lime

Shake together over rocks and chill before serving.

Goose with a twist

2 oz Grey Goose Vodka

4 oz club soda

Splash of Orange Juice

Garnish with an orange slice and cherry.

Captain Morgan & DDP

2 oz Spiced Captain Morgan (light rum)

8 oz diet Dr. pepper

Blackberry Margarita (compliments of Elizabeth Todd)

1/2 cup silver Tequila

1 cup fresh blackberries

1 Tbsp Truvia (sugar substitute)

12 oz Crystal Light Lemonade

3 cups club soda

3 cups ice cubes

Garnish with fresh blackberries and mint

Mash together blackberries and sugar in a medium bowl.  Press miture through a fine wire mesh strainer into a small bowl, using back of spoon to squeeze out juice.  Discard pulp and seeds.

Pour blackberry mixture into a large pitcher.  Sir in tequila and lemonade until blended.  Stir in club soda and ice cubes.

Cherry Coke Fizz

4 oz (Lakewood) Pure Organic Red Tart Cherry Juice

2 oz GreyGoose Vodka

2 oz Coke zero or diet Sprite

I love your website! Can’t wait to try some of the “adult beverages”. They all sound good. And yes it saves money & calories to eat at home. And with that comes the extra bonus of knowing the kitchen your food has been prepared in is clean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love your site!! I just stumbled upon this while browsing! I’m super into health and fitness, so I’m just thrilled I found your site! And I love this article, because I find that going out and maintaining a healthy lifestyle do not necessarily go hand in hand. That is, until, I found out about Voli Vodka…its so many fewer calories and has electrolytes!! I just wanted to share what I found to make it easier for those who also like to go out and have a good time without sacrificing their health 🙂
