Spaghettios!
I am a member of a food and wine group online and one of the girls posted a “grown up” spaghettios recipe a few months ago. I decided that I wanted to put my own little twist on it and made it a healthier dish that my readers could also enjoy. I have made it several times and now my husband asks for me to make it all the time! We both love it. And….best of all, it is SUPER EASY to make!
Hope Y’all enjoy!!
Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey breast, chicken breast, lean ground beef, low fat Italian sausage (the sausage is the favorite)
1 cup water
1/2 yellow sweet onion, diced
2 5 oz cans tomato sauce, low sodium
2 cans Italian style stewed tomatoes, no salt added
2 cans french onion soup, organic (so you can avoid the MSG found in other brands)
2 cups whole wheat pasta, rotini or spirals are always fun
2 Tbsp Italian Seasoning
Parmesan cheese
Fresh chopped Parsley
Red pepper flakes
Preparation:
Brown meat in a large pot. Add the rest of the ingredients to pot. Simmer the rest of the ingredients on low/medium heat for 35 minutes or until pasta is cooked. Top with 1 tbsp parmesan cheese, pinch of red pepper flakes (if you like heat) and some fresh parsley.
