Ravioli Italian Sausage Soup
Another soup to add to your recipe book. This one is SO easy, once again, because I use the crock pot. I just love the warm soups on the chilly fall nights.
Ingredients:
8 oz chicken sausage, sweet italian
12 oz whole wheat cheese & spinach ravioli OR tortellini
1 medium onion, diced
1 carrot, peeled and diced,
1 zucchini, diced
28 oz crushed tomato, all natural or no salt added
6 cups low sodium chicken broth
1 cup flat leaf parsley, chopped
2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
2 bay leaves
salt & pepper to taste
Prep:
Pour everything into your crock pot except for the tortellini. Cook on low for 4 hours. Add tortellini and cook an additional 20 minutes. Enjoy.
