Taco Boy Restaurant Review
It’s Cinco de Mayo and you still haven’t made up your mind yet about where you want to go eat? Well, today is the best excuse to drink a margarita and each chips and salsa and queso without feeling too much guilt. As I have mentioned numerous times before, I love Mexican style food. So, I have tried many of the different mexican restaurants around the Charleston area and have a few favorites on my list. One of those favorites is this little cantina on Folly Beach (also now Downtown) called Taco Boy. Not only does Taco Boy have a great outdoor area with a fun atmosphere, they also have several healthy options on the menu to keep that bikini body looking good after a long day at the beach.
My husband and I frequent Taco Boy as much as our diet and budget will allow. They have a delicious menu with tons of “healthier” options to choose from. Last time we went, I opted for the Taco Boy salad with grilled chicken breast and a side of the Lime Cilantro Vinaigrette. It is a very filling salad made with mixed greens and lots of veggies and flavor. You actually don’t even really need much of the dressing on the salad at all. The salsa adds a “dressing-like” feel and taste to the salad. I always feel good and not like a stuffed pig when I leave the restaurant.
A few of my other favorite healthier items on the menu are:
Grilled Fish Taco
Carne Asada Taco
Grilled Chicken Taco
And if you are a big chips and salsa fan, try the salsa trio. They are a much healthier option than some of those other cheesy starters. days a week.
I hope you enjoy this little Charleston spot as much as we do!
You can check out Taco Boy on Folly Beach at 15 Center street from 11am-2am Wenesday-Sunday and downtown at 217 Huger street from 11am-2am 7 days a week.
