10 Weeks to a “Fitter” body
Last week I started taking (yes, taking……not teaching) a “marine” bootcamp. It is awesome! I love that they yell at me, tell me I am slow, tell me I can do better, etc. I know that not many people like this (not many of my readers, at least….but I do!) It is only 2 times a week and it is nice to get out of the house and be around other adults who enjoy working out too. I have been doing my workouts since Baby C was born, but I have not had a workout partner and sometimes, well, it just gets boring on your own. This is why I decided to sign up for the class. That AND motivation from the marines.
Anyway, yesterday was our PFT (physical fitness test). We had to run a mile for time, do as many pushups in 2 minutes and as many crunches in 2 minutes. I ended up running the mile in 7:35, doing 70 (real) pushups, and 55 crunches. I am pretty happy with my numbers….except for the run. 3 other people in the class beat me in the run, so my challenge is to finish first at the end of the 10 week boot camp session. Call me crazy, but I don’t like to lose!
So……I am going to challenge you today is to go out and run 1 mile as fast as you can, do the pushups and crunches in 2 minutes and write down your scores. Over the next 10 weeks, I will post workouts for you to complete that will help improve your strength and running. In 10 weeks, I am going to challenge you to do it again and HOPEFULLY we have an improvement! Get out to a track and Start your lifestyle change today!!!
