Boost Brain Power with Cardio

Not only will cardio help trim and slim your outer core and lose the muffin top, it will also help boost your brain power and make you smarter, boosts your productivity, and increase your energy. Yep! All of that extra blood that is pumping is delivering extra oxygen and nutrients to your brain and this helps it perform at max efficiency. Cardio also floods the brain with chemicals enhancing functions such as memory, problem solving, and decision making.

Did you know that by exercising, you are at a mental advantage to your co-workers? Those who did a 30 minute cardio session during the day or before work, performed at a higher productivity level than their lazy counter parts. Instead of going out to lunch, pack your lunch and use your other 30 minutes to go walking, bike riding, or running. You are also able to remember more and stress less. What’s not to love about that?

So don’t just workout your body and your heart, work out that brain of yours too! Try this cardio pumping workout to help get you started:

SUICIDES:

Remember Suicides from Soccer or basketball practice? Maybe you never played high school sports growing up, but here is your chance to become an athlete……

Find a tennis court, basketball court, beach, or field and use it! Create your own markers for the suicides by making 6-8 lines about 10 yards apart. To do a Basic suicide you will start at the first line and sprint to the second line, bend down and touch the line with your hand then return to your starting mark and touch that line. Sprint to the second line, touch it and sprint back to the start. Keep going, running and touching the next furthest line until you have touched all the lines and returned to your starting mark. That is one set. Try to get as many sets as you can in a 30 minute time period and keep track. Each week you do these, try to increase the number of sets or times you touch each line.

Don’t forget to cool down after suicides are all over……don’t just collapse to the grass. Instead, take a lap and walk for about 5-10 minutes to bring your heart rate back to start.

These will truly bust your butt into shape! And fast!
