Cool in the Pool
Beat the summer heat and still get a sexy summer beach body! Do it by staying cool in the pool. Try these fat burning, muscle toning exercises and get fit today!
Anyone can do these exercises, especially people who have bad knees or hips, pregnant women, or a beginner. If you are an avid exerciser or athlete, these moves will be a great way to change up your everyday routine. If you cannot swim very well, skip the freestyle and side stroke swims. Instead, you will run in place for one minute in place of those exercises.
- Run in place for 1 minute in pool
- 15 on each side-Lunge and straight arm pull against water (keep arms straight as you step to the side)
- 20 each side- Hands behind head and bring knees up as far as you can out of the water to touch your knee
- 30 seconds of High Knees
- Straight arm circles underwater for 1 minute (reverse rotation and do for another minute)
- 30 seconds of Mogul Jumps- side to side over a line w one leg
- Tread water with arms for 1 minute
- Butt kicks while running
- 30 seconds of Straight leg kicks while holding onto side of pool (you will be facing side of pool)
- Hold Your partners legs and they swim freestyle for 30 seconds
- 30 seconds High Knees
- Breast Stroke- length of pool and back
- 15 Triceps dips off pool edge
- Freestyle swim- length of pool and back
- 20 Squat Jumps with arms behind head
- Side swim (hands and knees come together)- length of pool and back
- 20 each leg Alternating front kicks
- 20 Around the world crunches while legs are on the side of the pool, go under water as far as you can and bring body back up to knees
- High Knees across the pool and back
- 30 second sprint
- 30 second walk
- 45 second sprint
- 45 second walk
- 60 sec sprint
- 30 sec walk
- 90 second sprint
- 30 sec walk
- 25 Pushups on side of pool- shoulders should be covered by water
- 15 Pikes in water- lie on back in water keeping head and toes just above water & bring toes to hands
- Pullovers with ball (float on top of water and pull ball from top of water to straightened legs)
- Freestyle sprint length of pool and back
