Fit Through Life
Today we are going to do Fit Through Life which is designed to give you a total body workout with some cardio. The cardio we will perform is low intensity, therefore, very little impact on the knees and hips. It will still get your heart rate into the moderate to high level depending on your cardiovascular background. Have fun and get fit and stay fit through life with these basic, yet effective, exercises.
Workout: You will complete 2 sets of each workout for 15 reps. Between the first and second set of each exercise, you will complete 30 seconds of knee to elbow marches.
Equipment: Light weights OR 2 soup cans, Stability ball OR chair, & mat
Level: Beginner
Time: 24 minutes
Exercises:
Stability Ball wall squats (or you can use a chair if you do not have a ball or do not feel comfortable using a ball, you will simply sit down onto the chair and immediately stand back up without using your hands for a push)
Lying chest press & chest flys while in a reverse bridge
SB leg extensions (again, you can use a chair for this exercise)
Lateral leg & arm raise
SB reverse flys with lower back extension (these can be done on the floor if you are not comfortable on a SB)
Quad Supermans (can be completed on a SB or on the floor)
this is a great set of exercises I can do…on my bed and against a wall and using two cans…I’ve had two knee replacements – 6rs ago right knee and last Aug..left knee….so don’t get on my knees or the floor unless i’ve fallen…so I realized watching this that I can do the floor exercises on my bed….I’m not liking the ball…I tried to use one when did phy therapy for the knee and had a balance problem and keep falling off…thank you for thinking of us oldie but goodies….diane
