With the Olympics right around the corner, I thought I’d give y’all some fun sprint & stadium workouts to do to help get your body into ridiculous shape! Each week, I will give you a different workout that will push your body to the limit. If you do this workout correctly, you will not be able to talk to anyone while doing it, you will be pretty sore the day after, and you will not be able to do more than 2 of these workouts in a week. However, the results = totally worth the short term pain!!!! (just ask any of the girls in my boot camp class). We have been doing these for a few weeks now and can all see a difference in muscle tone and speed. So…….follow along and then when you watch the Olympic runners, you won’t be SO jealous of their awesome bodies! Good luck, have fun and don’t forget to warm up with things like high knees, butt kicks, and a light jog.
A few tips when sprinting- make sure you run on your toes- don’t run flat footed, pump your arms- you’ll go faster, your starting stance (your rear foot) should be your dominant foot, and finally look straight ahead (not down or up). *Walk back to starting position after each sprint and then immediately go again
Sprint 10 yards- 10 times
Sprint 20 yards- 5 times
Sprint 30 yards- 5 times
Sprint 50 yards- 5 times
Sprint 100 yards- 2 times
Total Sprinting yards= 800 yrds
**Make sure to stretch REALLY well after this workout. AND get out the next day and do some light cardio, like jogging, walking, or elliptical. It will help you not be so sore.
