Stability Ball Use

stability ballStability ball, also known as the Swiss ball, is a wonderful exercise tool.  Not only is it cheap, it is easy to store and easy to pack on long trips.  Some people are afraid of the ball because they do not know how to use it properly, or are afraid they will fall off the unstable ball.  If you are afraid you will fall off, there are ball bases that you can buy until you get comfortable using the ball.  There are also bases that you can buy that act as a chair, so you are constantly using your core muscles while you work.

The SB challenge your body to new extremes by putting your body into an unstable environment.  When you sit on a ball, you are not only using your core muscles, but your legs too.  When you add in things like a chest press, squat, or crunch, you are engaging pretty much every muscle.

If you do not know how to use the ball properly, your ball will offer some simple exercises on a card with proper form.  However, if you follow along with me in our workouts, I will be teaching you fun, new ways to use your ball.  Probably things you’ve never dreamed of doing.  Before you know it, you will be a master at the stability ball and possibly even standing or kneeling on the ball without holding on to a thing!!!  (Yes, I have seen this done before)  So give it a whirl and purchase your ball today so that you can join me in the many SB exercises that I do on video.  They are a really great fad that never went away.

Make sure you get the right size ball for you.

55 cm – 4’11” – 5’4″
65 cm – 5’5″ – 5’11”
75 cm – 6’0″ – 6′ 7″

You can also use your ball for stretching & relaxing or around the house for your kids to play with.

Oh yeah, and stability balls are made with anti-burst PVC plastic designed for your safety.  Don’t be afraid that your ball will break on you…….it won’t.
